Jing is the legendary "Ou
Dorobou" or "King of Bandits". Why? True,
he is an excellent thief. Jing can steal a tooth from the
mouth of a pirate. But he has higher aims than that.
"He steals everything. Even stars glittering in
the sky and invaluable lives. That's why people call him
King of Bandits Jing." He isn't alone, though.
His partner and friend is talking crow named Kill, who
really has a thing for lovely ladies. Together, Jing can
use Kill as a powerful gun which produces the "Kill
Royal" attack that few can defend themselves
against. The stories are fun and
action-filled, the main characters are likeable, but what
really makes the series is the world Kumakura has
created. The fact Kill can talk is not unusual -
everything seems to be able to talk (my favorite are a
couple of carriage horses). There's everything from
humans to humanoid animals to mermaids to ghosts. The
land itself is unique with living magma and water that
floats in the air. The series is a collection of random
stories, at least in the beginning. However the mystery
of Jing himself could be the thread throughout the series.
Largest question being, how could a boy like himself have
the skills he does and be the King of Bandits?
